A break in heated political discourse to share a few pictures of something else very hot: Panama.
Two Evoy sisters and their families hit the open road to take in the Panama Canal, the rainforest during the dry season, the old city of Casco Viejo, and the beautiful beach town of Pedasi. It was a lovely week of touring, swimming, attempting to use our spanish language skills, and visiting with family, and the occasional political discussion. You know us so well readers, we love the sport!
Most memorable moments included trying to order food; we were quasi successful ordering a happy meal on the way to Pedasi, over-ordered fried rice at a chinese restaurant where staff only spoke spanish and I mistakenly ordered a steamed milk instead of frio leche for Indira. Hilarious moments included me falling while trying to walk out of the Gulf of Panama at Isla Iguana while wearing flippers. Kim will have additional moments to add, no doubt. Also we met a lovely French woman who owns an art shop in the heart of Pedasi where we supported the local economy with purchases of jewelry made of the tagua nut, t-shirt and a hammock. Most impressed moment: eating in an Italian restaurant run by a husband and wife team with no additional staff. Saddest moment; realizing much of the country is still a developing nation in need of much help.
MANY THANKS to Kim and Dave for letting us tag along on what was a real adventure and KUDOS to Dave and Jake for their navigation skills.

What a treat it was to travel somewhere warm in February. Panama exceeded my expectations all around. The Panama Canal was an amazing site, with a fantastic museum at the Miraflores locks. Traveling in Panama was amazingly easy, and yes, with 2 husbands that have an amazing sense of direction. And then to Pedasi and the day on Isla Iguana. A little paradise in the middle of the Gulf of Panama. It was fun for many reasons, but even better to spend time with family. I can't wait for all of us to go again.
